LBCC to Host NIKE Basketball Camp in July

ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton Community College is proud to annouce its hosting of a NIKE Basketball camp for boys and girls, July 22-25, 2019. Roadrunner men's basketball coach Joe Schaumburg and women's basketball coach Jerod Gibson will be directing the camp.

This camp, designed for all ability levels, will improve fundamental skill sets, team play tactics, and knowledge of the game. This camp will help you succeed as not only a basketball player, but also as a student and young individual.

The Complete Skills Camp helps players of all abilities develop athletically, refine fundamental basketball skills and enhance their skill set at the post, wing or guard position.

  • Four days of instruction, Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Emphasis on fundamental development, situational play, basketball IQ and film study
  • Positive Coaching Alliance Triple-Impact Competitor and Mental Skills Training sessions

  • Joe Schaumburg

    Joe Schaumburg was named Head Men's Basketball Coach at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, OR in April of 2019. Coach Schuamburg is a veteran Nike Basketball Camp Director and has over 20 years of coaching experience at the youth, high school, community college, and four-year collegiate levels. Schaumburg is a certified trainer for the Positive Coaching Alliance and founder of Positive Step Athletics, a basketball training program that focuses on leadership, mental skills training, and using basketball as a tool to develop the mind, body, and spirit of players.


  • Jerod Gibson

    Jerod Gibson was named Head Women's Coach on May 23, 2018 at Linn-Benton Community College. Coach Gibson came from Pacific University, where he spent five years with the men's program, most recently as the interim head men's basketball coach in 2017-18. Gibson has also worked as a camp director and coach at the Larry Steele Basketball Camp, United States Basketball Academy, and Cascade Basketball Camps.
