Sophomores Recognized at Final Home Game

ALBNAY, Ore. — Linn-Benton Community College recognized and honored its nine sophomores during a pre-game ceremony Saturday, May 11, 2019. Players were joined by family members and presented with a framed action photo from their playing career with the Roadrunners.

Linn-Benton won the NWAC Southern Region title with two wins over Clackamas on Saturday, posting a conference record of 20-4 and 30-9 overall. The Roadrunners receive a first round bye in the NWAC Championship Tournament and will play Thursday, May 23 in Longview, Washington at 12:45 p.m. against the winner of the West Super Regional. 2019 Sophomores

Colton Talton – A native of Pueblo, Colorado Colton attended Pueblo County High School.  In 2019 as a 1st baseman for the Roadrunners, Colton is hitting .298 with 9 doubles, 4 home runs, and 31 RBI's.

Marcus Lydon – Marcus is from Eugene, Oregon where he attended Marist High School.  As a 2nd baseman for the Roadrunners in 2019, Marcus is hitting .252 with 5 doubles, 2 triples and 1 home run.

Austen Carpenter – Austen attended Gresham High School in Gresham, Oregon and has been a starting pitcher for two years with the Roadrunners.  In those two years he has a 9-3 record with a 2.90 ERA, pitching in 71 innings with 60 strikeouts.

Daniel Ferrario – Dan is from West Linn, Oregon where he attended West Linn High School, and has served as the Roadrunners Ace on the mound.  In 2019, he has a 2.41 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 37 innings. Dan has signed a letter-of-intent to play at Boise St. next year. 

Fridtjof Fremstad – Fritz, attended Astoria high school in Astoria, Oregon.  In two years at Linn Benton as a Forestry Engineering major, he has compiled a .300 average with 1 home run, 41 runs and 30 RBI's.  

Dequahn Dennis-Lee – DQ is from Gresham, Oregon where he attended Oregon City High School. As a utility player for the Roadrunners DQ has a .281 average with 35 RBI's, 25 stolen bases and 47 Walks.

Brock Townsend – Brock attended Churchill High School in Eugene, Oregon, and was LBCC's Ace in 2018.  In two years, Brock has compiled a 9-2 record, with a 1.39 ERA with 93 strikeouts in 71 innings.  He earned 1st team all NWAC and 1st team all-region in 2018. Brock will be attending Cal State Bakersfield in the fall.

Cole Hamilton – Cole attended North Salem High School and last year hit .292 with 32 runs and 27 RBI's, good enough to earn 1st Team All South as well as South Gold Glove honors. He was drafted last year to the Washington Nationals. He will be attending Oregon State University in the fall.

Richard Mascarenas – Richie is from Durango High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has served as the team's shortstop the last two years.  He has hit .314 with 16 doubles, 64 runs, 50 RBI's and 65 walks. He was a 1st team all-south, 2nd team all NWAC, 2nd team all-region, and a south gold glove winner in 2018.  He will be attending Oregon State in the fall.
