ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton made a run in the final 0:11 seconds but came up just short as Portland survived 90-87 in NWAC South Region men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
Bennet Bos hit a three-pointer with 0:06 remaining to cut Portland's lead to 89-87, but the Roadrunners called a timeout despite having none remaining. The resulting technical foul and Portland's made free throw provided the final margin.
TJ Zimmermann led the Roadrunners (12-11, 6-5) with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Cade Smith added 17 points and six rebounds.
Linn-Benton next travels to Clark on Wednesday.
