ALBANY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton men's basketball team traveled east for a pair of road games, falling to Walla Walla Community College 102-99, then defeating Blue Mountain Community College 94-92. The games were played on Monday, November 24 and Tuesday, November 25.
Game 1: Linn-Benton (2-1, 0-0 NWAC South) took on the Warriors of Walla Walla Community College (4-2, 0-0 NWAC East) in a high scoring affair. Both teams shot over 50% from the field, but in the end it was the host Warriors earning the 102-99 victory.
Kaiden Ford had a team-high 27 points, while teammate Anthony Best had 26 points of his own. Braxton Long had 19 points off the bench in his first action of the season.
Game 2: The Roadrunners had a quick turnaround as they would face Blue Mountain Community College (0-4, 0-0 NWAC East) the following day. Trailing 50-45 at the half, Linn-Benton would rally in the second half to outscore the Timberwolves and come away with the 94-92 win.
Best had another strong performance, scoring 20 points and gathering eight rebounds. Long scored 18 points and handed out a team-high six assists, while Gabe Townsend had 17 points.
The Roadrunners will next host Grays Harbor Community College on Saturday, November 29. That game is scheduled for a 6:00PM tip-off.
