Buzzer Beater Lifts Roadrunners Over Lakers

COOS BAY, Ore. - Linn-Benton men's basketball secured a road victory on their final possession of the game, defeating the Lakers of Southwestern Oregon 68-65. After the teams played to a 35-35 halftime score, the Roadrunners (9-12, 3-5 NWAC South) forced a Laker turnover to get the ball back with the score tied at 65-65 late in the game.

With just one second left on the clock, Braxton Long found Gabe Townsend in the corner for a three point shot that went through as time expired to give the Roadrunners an important road win. Townsend finished the game with 10 points and Kaiden Ford was the high scorer for the visitors with 18.

Linn-Benton will return home Saturday, January 31 as they host the Panthers of Portland Community College. That game is scheduled for a 2:00PM tip-off.
