ALBANY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton men's basketball team battled the fourth ranked Umpqua Community College Riverhawks, before a late scoring drought led to an 84-69 loss. The Roadrunners (10-14, 4-7 NWAC South) were within three points of the Riverhawks (21-3, 9-2 NWAC South) with just three minutes left as the visitors went on a 12-0 run to close out the contest.
Gabe Townsend finished with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Kaiden Ford had 16 points and Jackson Oglesby had 15 points. The Roadrunners trailed by just two points at halftime, 38-36, and stayed within striking distance until the Riverhawks ratcheted up their defense late to claim the victory.
Linn-Benton will next host Clark College on Saturday, February 14. That game is scheduled for a 2:00PM tip-off.
