Roadrunners Pick Up Key Road Win

PENDLETON, Ore. - The Linn-Benton volleyball team started off their five game road trip with a victory over Blue Mountain Community College. The Roadrunners (3-1, 0-0 NWAC South) won in three sets with scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-17.

Linn-Benton was led by Sophomore Annabelle Peterson who was credited with seven kills on .538 hitting efficiency to go along with three service aces and five digs. Freshman Lucy Schuller chipped in with six kills while hitting .385 and with eight digs and two aces. 

Lana Gillas had eight kills with a .313 hitting efficiency and setters Klaire Bitter and Josie Jenness finished with 15 assists each. 

The Timberwolves (1-4, 0-0 NWAC East) battled the visitors tough, but were unable to take a set off Linn-Benton. The Roadrunners will now head to Pasco, Washington with four more games on the schedule as they participate in the Coach G Memorial Tournament at Columbia Basin College

Friday August 29 Linn-Benton will face the hosts at 11:00AM and then play against Tacoma Community College with that match scheduled to start at 5:00PM.

Saturday, August 30 the Roadrunners will face the Orcas of Whatcom Community College at 9:00AM and then will play a fourth and final match. The final match opponent and start time will be determined after their third match of the tournament has been played.
