PASCO, Wash. - The Linn-Benton women's basketball team started their 2025-26 campaign by traveling to take on two preseason top 10 opponents. The Roadrunners (0-2, 0-0 NWAC South) fell to top ranked Walla Walla Community College and seventh ranked Columbia Basin College.
Game 1: The Warriors of Walla Walla (2-0, 0-0 NWAC East) got off to a hot start, opening up a double digit lead in the first quarter as they would win 70–41. Linn-Benton was led by the 18 points of Sadie Wendring but could not keep pace with the defending NWAC Champions.
Game 2: Linn-Benton would see the Hawks of Columbia Basin (2-0, 0-0 NWAC East) build a lead early in the game, however the Roadrunners battled to keep pace with the hosts, playing them even through the second and third quarters. The early lead was just too much to overcome and Linn-Benton would fall 81-60. Wendring scored 14, while Anneka Steen had a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds.
The team will head to Eugene, Ore. for three games in three days starting with another top 10 opponent in Treasure Valley Community College on Friday, November 21. That game is scheduled for a 3:00PM start time.
