Linn-Benton Plays Pair of Road Games

ALBANY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton women's basketball team traveled east for a pair of road games this weekend, taking on Treasure Valley Community College then facing Blue Mountain Community College. The team battled through each game, but fell in both contests.

Game 1: The Roadrunners (3-5, 0-0 NWAC South) traveled to Treasure Valley (5-2, 0-0 NWAC East) and jumped out to an early 16-8 first quarter lead. The host Chukars would rally with a big second quarter to take back the lead at halftime and would win the contest 72-53. Sadie Wendring scored a team-high 19 points, while Anneka Steen scored six points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds.

Game 2: Linn-Benton would hit the road the following day to take on Blue Mountain Community College in a back and forth affair. Leading by just one heading into the fourth quarter, the host Timberwolves (1-3, 0-0 NWAC East) controlled the final ten minutes and defeated the visitors 76-65. Wendring again led the scoring with 34 points, while Steen grabbed 12 rebounds to go with five points. Nalia Wagar had a well-rounded game scoring nine points, gathering six rebounds and handing out six assists.

The Roadrunners will return to their home court December 12 for three games in three days as they host the NWAC Crossover at Linn-Benton. The team will start the tournament by facing off with Bellevue College with a scheduled tip-off time of 6:00PM. They will then play Treasure Valley on December 13 at 6:00PM and finish the tournament with Lower Columbia on Sunday, December 14 at 4:00PM.
