PORTLAND, Ore. - The Linn-Benton women's basketball team picked up their first road win of south region play as they defeated Portland Community College by a score of 76-67. Linn-Benton used a 20-12 second quarter advantage to build a lead they would maintain throughout the second half to claim the win.
The Roadrunners (4-11, 1-1 NWAC South) had four players in double figures, led by the 28 points of Sadie Wendring. Lainie Bateman had 15 points while Isabella Loitz had 10 points. Anneka Steen had 11 points to go with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Linn-Benton shared the ball effectively with 21 assists to just 11 for the Panthers (4-13, 0-3 NWAC South). The team defended the perimeter well, allowing just one made three-point basket for the game.
The Roadrunners will head to Umpqua Community College on Wednesday, January 14 to take on the Riverhawks. That game is scheduled for a 7:30PM tip-off.
