Linn-Benton Bounces Back Against Mt. Hood

ALBANY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton women's basketball team had a pair of games over three days, securing one win and dropping one as well. The Roadrunners (5-13, 2-3 NWAC South) again faced the top ranked team in the NWAC, this time in top seeded Clackamas Community College. The team fell to the Cougars but then traveled to Mt. Hood Community College where they earned a victory on the road.

Game 1: Facing undefeated Clackamas (18-0, 5-0 NWAC South) the Roadrunners fell behind early and could not recover as they lost 88-40. Lainie Bateman scored 11 to lead the team in points.

Game 2: Linn-Benton hit the road to take on the Saints of Mt. Hood Community College and used a strong second half effort on defense to claim the 75-48 win. The Roadrunners held the Saints (2-16, 0-6 NWAC South) to just 13 second half points and 28% shooting for the game. Sadie Wendring scored 27 points, Bateman had 23 points and Anneka Steen collected 16 rebounds to go with eight points.

Linn-Benton will next host the second ranked Titans of Lane Community College on Wednesday, January 21. That contest is scheduled to start at 7:30PM.
