Roadrunners Race Past Saints

ALBANY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton women's basketball team protected their home court as they defeated the Saints of Mt. Hood Community College 70-52. The Roadrunners (10-16, 7-6 NWAC South) jumped out to a strong first quarter lead, extending it to double digits in the third quarter before cruising to the victory.

Sadie Wendring led the way with 24 points and six steals, while Anneka Steen recorded yet another double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Lydia Gray had 12 points and Lainie Bateman had 11 for the hosts.

Linn-Benton had a strong performance on the glass, outrebounding the Saints (4-22, 2-12 NWAC South) 46-32 while forcing the visitors to commit 26 turnovers. The Roadrunners next head to Eugene to face Lane Community College on Wednesday, February 18. That game is scheduled for a 7:30PM tip-off.
