GRESHAM, Ore. - Playing their third road match in seven days the Linn-Benton volleyball team was able to defeat the Mt. Hood Saints in three sets. The Roadrunners (11-4, 2-1 NWAC South) won the first set 25-21 and then pulled away in the second set with a score of 25-18 and completed the sweep with a third set 25-15 win.
Freshman Mazie Reeser had a team-high seven kills and ten digs while Josie Essner had six kills with a hitting efficiency of .714. Josie Jenness had 18 assists to help Linn-Benton seal the victory.
Mt. Hood (4-10, 0-3 NWAC South) struggled to keep pace with the visitors, recording a hitting efficiency of .051 compared to .200 from Linn-Benton.
The Roadrunners return to their home court Friday, September 26 to host the Riverhawks of Umpqua Community College. First serve for the match is scheduled for 6:00PM.
