Roadrunners Dig Pink, Fly Past Penguins

ALBANY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton volleyball team was led by strong service as they defeated the visiting Penguins of Clark College in front of a large home crowd of pink supporting the Side-Out Foundation and their cancer research efforts. 

The Roadrunners (15-5, 6-2 NWAC South) won 3-0 with set scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-15.

Sophomore Annabelle Peterson had a team-high six kills on a .667 hitting efficiency to go along with five service aces. Freshman Lucy Schuller also had five aces to go along with five kills while Josie Jenness had 22 assists. As a team, Linn-Benton recorded a hitting efficiency of .358 for the match.

Clark (6-14, 2-5 NWAC South) were led by the 12 kills of Kylie Miller, but could only muster a hitting efficiency of .140 and struggled to handle the Roadrunners service, committing 13 receiving errors.

The Roadrunners conclude the first half of south region play at 6-2 and will next host Clackamas Community College on Friday, October 17 with a first serve time set for 6:00PM.
