Thrilling Comeback Highlights Volleyball Weekend Sweep

ALBANY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton volleyball team had an outstanding weekend, earning two important wins at home. The Roadrunners (17-5, 8-2 NWAC South) defeated Clackamas Community College, then claimed a victory against Chemeketa Community College the following day.

In their first match of the weekend, the Roadrunners hosted Clackamas Community College (13-6, 7-3 NWAC South). Linn-Benton took the first set 25-22 but the Cougars rallied back to consecutive set wins both with a score of 25-21. 

Trailing two sets to one, the home team refused to go away and came back to win the fourth set 25-20. The fifth and final set saw the Roadrunners pull away late, winning 15-10.

In their second match in as many days, Linn-Benton hosted the Storm of Chemeketa (9-14, 3-8 NWAC South) winning the first set 25-22. The visitors battled back and took the second set 25-22, before Linn-Benton found their stride and won the next two sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-17.

Linn-Benton concludes their five match homestand on Wednesday, October 22 as they host the Saints of Mt. Hood Community College. First serve for that match is scheduled for 6:00PM.
